Rose Read – Treasurer Manager, Recycling of MobileMuster
Rose has more than 20 years experience in natural resource and environmental management. Her expertise in policy and program management as well as community education and engagement, has equipped her well to manage the leading electronic waste recycling program in Australia – MobileMuster – the Mobile Phone Industry’s Recycling Program.
Prior to joining AMTA in late 2005, Rose worked with the not-for-profit community-based environment organisation Clean Up Australia and Clean Up the World. This included nearly four years as General Manager where she led the team through three Clean Up Australia Days; four Clean Up the World Weekends; developed and implemented Clean Up Australia´s assault on plastic bags; and helped develop programs on clean fuels, business waste reduction, water conservation and litter prevention.
Previous to this Rose worked for a number of state government agencies and universities including the Murray-Darling Basin Commission, inspiring and supporting community involvement in environmental, water, waste and natural resource management.
Rose has held a number of positions on State and National government working groups and committees such as the NSW Landcare Working Group; NSW Salt Action Taskforce, the NSW State Stormwater Advisory Committee; the NSW Litter Education Reference Panel; the Western Sydney Environment Taskforce; the Advisory Board of the Millennium Kids; and the Federal Government´s Plastic Bags Working Group and currently holds the position of Manager, Recycling, Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA).
